A kimono starts with making a single silk thread and is created with the dedicated work and skill of many craftsmen. Many of them are passed down lovingly from generation to generation - this is the essence of Japanese culture.
However, as lifestyles change, many unknown kimonos stay asleep in the closet and sometimes begin decaying.
I wanted to give new life to those kimonos that are too beautiful to throw away. It is my great pleasure to see them being loved again.
I use a traditional Japanese craft technique called Oshie. I am trying to create new art with inspiration from Life in New York and Switzerland.
